Garment and Scarf Manufacturing in Mumbai and Vasai

Manoj Expo International manufactures at a 22,000 sq ft facility in Vasai East, Palghar, built in 2013 to meet growing export demand under full social compliance. Our registered office remains in Kandivali East, Mumbai. The plant is built for garment export work, with every apparel process from fabric checking to final packing handled in one building.

Most of what leaves this factory is private label garment programmes produced to buyers' own tech packs and labels, for retailers and brands in the USA, UK and Europe. Scarves and accessories are made on the same floor, under the same compliance.

100 machines, one roof

The plant runs 100 machines with dedicated areas for fabric checking, cutting, sewing, spotting, checking, pressing and packing, plus in-house trims and finished goods stores. Skilled labour work across production, quality and despatches.

Combined monthly capacity is 50,000 woven garments and 250,000 scarves.

One factory, no subcontracting

Everything we take on is made here. We do not subcontract garment manufacturing to other units, so the factory that is audited is the factory that makes your order, and the people who sewed your first sample are the people who sew your bulk.

That matters more than it sounds. Unauthorised subcontracting is the single most common reason a buyer's social compliance programme fails, because the audited site and the producing site turn out to be different places. With one unit there is nothing to reconcile.

Our registered office is in Kandivali East, Mumbai. All production is at Vasai East.

Quality control at every stage

Our QA team is stationed on the production floor at all times rather than inspecting only at the end. Fabric is inspected on lit tables before cutting. Work in progress is checked between stages. Finished garments are inspected at lit tables again before folding, bagging and cartoning for export.

We inspect against your parameters, not only our own. Buyers who specify their own AQL standards or inspection protocols are accommodated.

Certification and compliance

• ISO 9001:2015 certified, quality management systems, valid to 2027

• SMETA 4-pillar audited to September 2027, references ZC 405422718 and ZS 405432090

• GRS registered with Control Union, certificate CU1026456GRS, renewed against confirmed orders

• Higg Index registered, ID 125761, self assessed

We believe in doing business ethically and in ensuring social security for our workers, and we welcome buyer audits.

Who audits us, and for what

Different firms do different things, and the distinction matters when your compliance team asks.

Social compliance is audited by Intertek and Elevate.

Product testing is carried out by Bureau Veritas and SGS.

Product inspection is carried out by PTS.

The factory has also been assessed under the CTPAT security programme for US big retail chains, through SCAN, which appoints the third party auditor.

Where a buyer appoints its own inspection agency, or sends its own team for in-line and final random inspection, we work to their protocol rather than ours.

The building and its footprint

The unit is 22,000 sq ft on a single site, built in 2013.

Solar generation supplies about 40 per cent of the factory's electricity consumption.

There is no dyeing and no washing here. All wet processing happens upstream at the mill, so the unit produces no process effluent. Electricity use is metered and we hold a third party stack emission report for our generators.

Fabric offcuts and production waste are collected by a recycling company rather than going to landfill, and we maintain a written environmental policy which we provide to any customer who asks.

More detail on materials and certification is on our sustainable manufacturing page.

Sustainable Materials

We source and produce in certified sustainable materials to your requirement, including GOTS organic cotton, silk, wool and linen, BCI cotton, FSC-certified viscose, Fairtrade cotton, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 fabrics, and Organic 100 and Organic Blended Content Standard materials.

How certification works, what we hold today and what we arrange against your order is set out on our sustainable manufacturing page.

Visiting the factory

Buyers are welcome here and many come. If you are planning a sourcing trip to India, tell us your dates and we will arrange access to the floor rather than a meeting room.

What you can expect to see: fabric arriving and being checked on lit tables, cutting, the sewing floor in production, the spotting and finishing area, final inspection at lit tables, and packing and despatch. Nothing is staged for visitors because there is only one floor to show.

Working with overseas buyers

We visit customers in their own markets regularly, both overseas and within India, to understand requirements, present seasonal sample ranges and review our own performance. Buyers are equally welcome at the factory.

Repeat programmes are planned season on season, with fabric and trims booked ahead so that reorders ship on shorter lead times.
