Sustainable and Certified Clothing Manufacturer, India
We manufacture womenswear in organic, recycled and certified natural fibres for brands and retailers in the USA, UK and Europe. Our factory is SMETA 4-pillar audited, runs on 40 per cent solar power, and does no wet processing, so it produces no process effluent.

How certification actually works here
Most suppliers blur this, and it is the first thing a compliance team will test.
Certified fibre is not the same as a certified garment. We can buy GOTS organic cotton or Better Cotton from a mill tomorrow. For the finished garment to be sold as certified, the factory that makes it has to hold certification too, and that certification has to be in force on the date of production.
We hold GRS registration with Control Union and take out the rest against confirmed orders. A certification held speculatively, for a programme that never arrives, costs money and proves nothing. One taken out against your purchase order is in force when your goods are made, which is the only date that matters.
So the honest answer to "are you certified" is: for recycled content we are registered and we certify on order. For organic, Better Cotton, Fairtrade and OEKO-TEX we certify on order.
Certification takes four to eight weeks, depending on how quickly the certification body and the mills upstream move. That runs alongside sampling and the opening of bulk rather than adding to your delivery date, because our own sampling takes two to four weeks and bulk runs 45 to 90 days from approved sample. Started at order stage, the certificate is in force before your goods are made.
Tell us which standard your programme needs when you send the tech pack and we will come back with the lead time and the certification cost alongside the price of the garment.
Materials we manufacture in
Available today, without additional certification:
FSC certified viscose, sourced from Aditya Birla. Certified forestry, for brands reporting on cellulosics.
These sit within our full fabric range, which runs from 30 GSM summer weights to 500 GSM winter weights.
Bamboo viscose, also from Aditya Birla and comparable mills. We describe it as viscose rather than as bamboo fibre, because regenerated cellulose made from bamboo is not bamboo fabric. Calling it that creates a labelling problem for you, not for us.
Available with certification arranged against your order:
GOTS certified organic cotton. Organic 100 and Organic Blended Content Standard materials for blended styles. Better Cotton, where you report against mass balance. Fairtrade cotton. Recycled polyester and recycled cotton under our GRS registration. Hemp.
What OEKO-TEX certification involves
Worth setting out, because buyers ask for OEKO-TEX more often than they understand it.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 does not test the fabric alone. It covers everything that ends up in the garment, from the sewing thread to residues of machine oil, which means the finished product is tested rather than the roll it was cut from.
Testing is carried out by accredited laboratories in Europe, and the cost is fixed per product rather than per piece. That is why order size matters: the same testing spread across a full programme is a routine line item, while on a single sample run it is disproportionate.
We price it into the quotation at the outset rather than agreeing in principle and raising it later.
What our factory holds today
SMETA 4-pillar audit, valid to September 2027. Four pillar is the full scope: labour standards, health and safety, environment and business ethics. References ZC 405422718 and ZS 405432090.
ISO 9001:2015, valid to 2027.
GRS registration with Control Union, certificate CU1026456GRS, renewed against confirmed orders.
Higg Index registered, ID 125761. This is a self assessment rather than a verified score, and we would rather say so than let you assume otherwise.
Social compliance is audited by Intertek and Elevate. Bureau Veritas and SGS carry out product testing. PTS carries out product inspection.
Our factory has been assessed under the CTPAT security programme for US big retail chains, through SCAN, which appoints the third party auditor.
Our own environmental footprint
This is the part most factories cannot answer, so we will be specific.
Solar power supplies about 40 per cent of the factory's electricity consumption.
We do no dyeing and no washing at Vasai. All wet processing happens upstream at the mill, which means the unit produces no process effluent at all. It is also why chemical discharge programmes such as ZDHC do not apply to us, rather than being something we have skipped.
Electricity consumption is measured, and we hold a third party stack emission report for our generators.
Fabric offcuts and production waste are collected by a recycling company rather than going to landfill.
We maintain a written environmental policy, which we provide to any customer who asks for it.
Documentation and chain of custody
Transaction Certificates for certified goods are issued by Control Union in favour of Manoj Expo International as shipper, against your purchase order. The chain is documented from fibre through to finished product.
One honest warning about timing. Certificates usually arrive after the shipment rather than with it, because the fibre and fabric mills upstream have to upload their data first and the certification body then has to verify it. We start the process at order stage rather than at shipment to keep that gap as short as possible, but we are not going to promise you paperwork on the vessel when the system does not work that way.
Tell us at the tech pack stage if your programme needs transaction level proof, so the chain is set up before fabric is booked rather than reconstructed afterwards.
What we will not claim
We are not a GOTS certified facility today. We buy GOTS certified cotton and we certify the factory against an order that needs it.
We do not hold Fairtrade, BCI or FSC certification ourselves. Those sit with the fibre producers and mills we buy from.
We do not make fabric. We source it, inspect it on lit tables before cutting, and manufacture from it.
We will not tell you a sustainable version of a style costs the same as the conventional one. Certified fibre carries a premium, certification carries a fee, and testing carries a cost. Buyers in this market know that, and most recover it in their own selling price.
All production runs in our own facility at Vasai East. We do not subcontract garment manufacturing, so the factory that is audited is the factory that makes your order. On a sustainability programme an unauthorised subcontractor invalidates every claim upstream of it.
The full private label programme, from tech pack to shipping documentation, is set out separately.
Common questions
-
We are SMETA 4-pillar audited, GRS registered for recycled content, run on 40 per cent solar and produce no process effluent. We manufacture in organic, recycled and certified natural fibres, with certification arranged against your order. We are not a GOTS certified facility today and we say so rather than implying otherwise.
-
Yes. We source GOTS certified cotton and arrange the factory certification your programme needs against the order. Organic 100 and Organic Blended Content Standard materials are available for blended styles.
-
Yes. We hold GRS registration with Control Union, certificate CU1026456GRS, and renew certification against confirmed orders so recycled content goods ship certified.
-
Both. For bamboo we use bamboo viscose and describe it that way rather than calling it bamboo fabric. Hemp is available with certification arranged against the order.
-
Yes. OEKO-TEX tests the finished product rather than the fabric alone, covering sewing threads and machine oil residues, with testing carried out by accredited European laboratories. The cost is fixed per product rather than per piece, so it is a routine line item on a full programme. Tell us at the tech pack stage and we will price it into the quotation.
-
Yes. A single named production site with no subcontracting, a SMETA 4-pillar audit valid to September 2027, measured electricity and a third party emissions report, a written environmental policy on request, and material certificates passed through from the mill.
-
Four to eight weeks, depending on how quickly the certification body and the upstream mills move. Because sampling takes two to four weeks and bulk runs 45 to 90 days from approved sample, certification started at order stage completes inside the production window rather than extending it.
-
Our minimum order terms is 300 pieces per style and colourway on garments. Certified fibre is often sold in larger minimum lots than conventional, and certification and testing carry fixed costs, so the practical figure is usually higher. We tell you before you commit to the fabric.
