Low Minimum Order Clothing Manufacturer, India

We manufacture womenswear for brands and retailers in the USA, UK and Europe from 300 pieces per style and colourway. That is low enough for a first season or a test drop, and the same factory, the same QA team and the same inspection standard apply whether you order 300 pieces or 30,000.

A low minimum is only useful if the factory can still grow with you. We run 50,000 woven garments a month at our own 22,000 sq ft facility, and 250,000 scarves, stoles, shawls and cover-ups. A programme that starts at 300 pieces and reaches several thousand a season does not change supplier, and does not move to a different floor, a different QA team or a different inspection standard when it grows.

Our minimums

Garments, including dresses, tops, co-ord sets and cover-ups: from 300 pieces per style and colourway.

Scarves, stoles, shawls, pareos and accessories: from 500 pieces per style and colourway.

Both come down on repeat programmes, once the pattern and fabric are already approved. We quote against fabric availability, so the practical figure moves with the quality you choose.

Certified fibre is usually sold in larger minimum lots. See sustainable manufacturing for how that affects quantities.

Why minimums exist at all

Most factories will not explain this, so it is worth setting out.

A minimum order is not a sales policy. It is the point below which the fixed costs of a run stop making sense for either of us.

Fabric is the first constraint. Mills sell greige and dyed fabric in minimum lots, and those lots are set per colour. A 100 piece order in four colourways needs four fabric minimums, which is why colourway count moves the number more than total quantity does.

Print and dye setup is the second. Screen and rotary printing carry a setup cost per colour, per design. Digital print avoids much of that, which is why digital styles can often run lower than screen printed ones.

Pattern, grading and marker making come third. That work is the same whether the run is 300 pieces or 3,000, so on very small runs it dominates the unit price.

None of this is unique to us. It is why a factory quoting 25 pieces is either printing digitally on stock fabric, buying fabric from a trader at a premium, or absorbing a loss to win the account.

How to get below our minimum

Three routes work, and we will tell you honestly which applies to your style.

Stock fabric. Where the quality you want is already in our store, the fabric minimum disappears and we can quote lower. Ask before you finalise the fabric specification, not after.

Fewer colourways, more depth. Three hundred pieces in one colourway is straightforward. Three hundred split across five colourways usually is not. If you need the range, consider one base fabric with different prints rather than different dyed grounds.

Repeat orders. Once a style is approved and the pattern and size set are held, the second order carries none of the development cost. Repeat quantities go lower than first orders and we hold approved patterns between seasons.

What a first order looks like

Send a tech pack, a sketch or a reference garment. We come back the same working day with feasibility and an indicative price.

Sampling takes two to four weeks, or is immediate where the fabric is already in stock. On approval, bulk runs 45 to 90 days depending on fabric and quantity.

You get the same AQL 2.5 documented final inspection, the same in-line checks during production, and the same certifications on a 300 piece order as on a 30,000 piece one. We do not run a separate process for small accounts.

The full private label process, from tech pack to shipping documentation, is set out on our private label page.

What we do not offer

We do not take 25 or 50 piece production runs, and we would rather say so than quote a number we cannot hold.

Below about 300 pieces the unit price rises to the point where it stops being manufacturing and starts being sampling, and most brands are better served by a sampling house at that stage. When you are ready to produce, come back to us.

We also do not offer no minimum order production. Any factory advertising it is applying a minimum somewhere, usually in the fabric, and it will appear in the price.
